MELBOURNE, April 25 AAP - Main stories on tonight's National Nine News bulletin:

- More than 30,000 Victorians paid tribute to Australia's past and present Diggers
at the Anzac Day dawn service at the Shrine of Remembrance today.

- With Melbourne bathed in sunshine, many stayed on to watch the Anzac Day march from
central Melbourne to the Shrine.

- The significance of Anzac Day is growing each year, Prime Minister John Howard says.

- At Gallipoli, the anniversary of the Anzac landing was marked with a solemn ceremony.

- In appalling disregard for the Anzac spirit, five teenage girls have been accused
of desecrating a cenotaph at Bathurst in NSW just hours before Anzac Day services.

- Former miners Todd Russell and Brant Webb attended an Anzac Day service at Beaconsfield
on the anniversary of the rock collapse that trapped them underground for two weeks and
killed workmate Larry Knight.
