Calls mount for prosecution of 'Day of Rage dissidents'.

Summary: JEDDAH: "May Allah Blacken Your Faces" is the title of a new Facebook campaign launched by a number of Saudi youths against those Saudis who used the social media tool to call for the failed Day of Rage last Friday.

The proposed Day of Rage petered out with citizens all over the Kingdom expressing their love for and allegiance to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah. The new campaign coincides with calls for lawsuits against those who called for the Day of Rage.

Internet sites of those who had called for protests and who called their movement the "Hunain Revolution" (in reference to a battle during the time of the Prophet, peace be upon him) remain deserted after their complete failure.

Loyal Saudi subjects have put together over 30 Facebook pages dubbing the alleged revolution "a fake and a failure."

Over 2.3 million Saudis, constituting about eight percent of the Kingdom's total population, use Facebook.

To fight back calls for protests, many Saudi youths who are loyal to the king and the government have established new pages calling for the arrest and trial of top dissidents such as Saad Al-Fakieh, Madawi Al-Rasheed and Muhammad Al-Masari, all of whom are abroad.

Second Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior Prince Naif thanked the Saudi people for standing firm behind King Abdullah. "I congratulate the leaders of this great country for their great people who have refused to succumb to the calls for sedition," he said.

"The Facebook pages of the agitators have become blank after their machinations were foiled. They did not react to the failure of their dirty work," said Faiz Al-Mishaali, a young citizen.

Al-Mishaali considers the failure of the Day of Rage as a manifestation of Saudi people's love and loyalty for King Abdullah and the Saudi leadership.

"Our oath of allegiance which we gave to King Abdul Aziz, the Kingdom's founder, is still continuing and is automatically renewed for these leaders who have left no stone unturned to achieve prosperity and progress for us," he added.

Those behind the May Allah Blacken Your Faces page consider March 11 (the supposed Day of Rage) as a landmark in the history of the Kingdom. They said the agitators, who are puppets of external forces, want to disintegrate their country and undermine prosperity.

Meanwhile, lawyer Khaled Abu Rashid said every Saudi citizen whose name appeared in the list of opponents published by the agitators has the right to sue those responsible within the Kingdom or abroad for using their name without permission.

He recalled that in 2005, Saad Al-Fakieh used a telephone directory to use the names of Saudis he alleged were opponents of the government.
